Dr. Anil Sharma is an experienced and highly skilled surgeon with a career spanning 38 years, specializing in various areas of surgical expertise. He holds an impressive educational background, including a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS Edin), Fellowship of the International College of Surgeons (FICS), Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS Eng), and a Master of Surgery (MS) degree in General Surgery from the University of Bombay. He also obtained a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Bombay University, Seth G. S. Medical College & associated K. E. M. Hospital. Dr. Anil Sharma has held several notable positions throughout his career. Currently, he serves as the Deputy Director at Max Institute of Minimal Access, Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery at Max Hospital Gurgaon. He was also the President (2015-2017) and a Founding Member of the Asia Pacific Hernia Society (APHS). Additionally, he has worked as a Senior House Officer and Registrar in Surgery at Bedford General Hospital and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Numerous positions and awards have recognised his accomplishments and contributions. In addition to serving as an examiner and an international clinical tutor for the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Edinburgh and England, He has been approved to serve as a faculty member by the National Board of Examinations in Minimally Invasive Surgery.. In addition, Dr. Anil Sharma serves as an Associate Editor for the Indian Journal of Surgery and as Vice President of the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons (IAGES). In addition, he established and oversaw the Basic Medical Writing Course and participated in training sessions for minimal access surgery and hernia repair. The International Federation of Societies for Obesity (IFSO), the Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society of India (OSSI), the Society of Endoscopic & Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (ELSA), the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons (SAGES), the Hernia Society of India (National Chapter of APHS), the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), and the Indian Medical Association are just a few of the prestigious surgical (IMA). His areas of interest and expertise include the surgical management of abdominal wall hernias, gall bladder and associated hepatobiliary conditions, bariatric and metabolic surgery for weight loss and treatment of Diabetes mellitus, single incision laparoscopic surgery, laparoscopic surgery for benign conditions of the upper GI tract, gallbladder stones, hernia, tummy tuck, obesity surgery, piles treatment, fissure, anal fistula, appendix, thyroid & parathyroid, and scarless neck surgery.
