Dr Ashok Kumar Vaid is a Padam Shree awardee and is known for his exceptional contributions in the field of medicine for 35 long years. He is a renowned oncologist and is a pioneer in bone marrow transplantation in India. He holds expertise in carrying out organ specific cancers, leukemias and lymphomas with the help of chemotherapy, and other targeted therapies. Dr. Vaid has also completed approximately 40 international and national studies in clinical research. He is presently working as the Chairman of Division of Medical & Paediatric Oncology, Haematology & Bone Marrow / Stem Cell Transplant at Medanta Hospital, Gurgaon. Earlier, he was associated with Artemis Health Institute as Head of the Department of Medical Oncology. His previous work experience includes working with Tata Memorial Hospital (Mumbai), Pushpanjali Crosslay Hospital, Breast Cancer Foundation of India, Indian Association of Gynaec Oncologists, Indian Medical Association and Association of Physicians of India.
