He is a pioneer in complex coronary surgeries and specialises in structural heart interventions such as TAVR, Mitra Angioplasty, LAAO,BMV, and adult VSD closure as well as endovascular procedures such as coronarid.

Dr Mathur was the first medical professional from India to secure a US patent for a tool used in carotid artery stenting.
