Dr. Rajiv Agarwal is a highly experienced Senior Director with a strong background in the field of cardiology. He has made significant contributions to the medical community through his extensive education, expertise, and research. Dr. Agarwal's educational journey began with an MBBS degree from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi in 1985. He further pursued his MD in Medicine and DM in Cardiology, both from AIIMS in 1988 and 1990, respectively. To expand his knowledge and skills, he completed a Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, USA, in 1992. With over 33 years of experience, Dr. Agarwal has worked at renowned institutions, including Batra Hospital & Medical Research Centre in New Delhi, AIIMS, University of Alabama at Birmingham in the USA, Council for Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Pushpanjali Crosslay Hospital in Vaishali, and Mata Chanan Devi Hospital in New Delhi. Throughout his career, Dr. Agarwal has received several accolades and recognition for his contributions to the field of cardiology. Notable awards include the Commonwealth Scholarships by British Council/Commonwealth Scholarship Commission, Dr. P N Berry Scholarship, Col. K. L. Chopra Award for original research in Ischemic Heart Disease, and the Late Pandit LC Richarya Memorial Oration for outstanding contribution in the field of Cardiology. Dr. Agarwal's areas of interest and expertise encompass a wide range of cardiac interventions and procedures, including coronary interventions, valvuloplasty, electrophysiology study, device implantation (including combo device), device closures, and outpatient procedures like embolization of the renal and bronchial arteries. Apart from his clinical practice, Dr. Agarwal actively engages in teaching and research. He serves as a faculty member and thesis guide for DNB Cardiology at Batra Hospital and DNB Medicine at Northern Railway Central Hospital. Additionally, he is a faculty member for the PGDCC course in Clinical Cardiology at Batra Hospital.
