Dr. Tarun Kapur

Dr. Tarun Kapur is a highly accomplished ophthalmologist currently serving as the Director and Head of the Department of Ophthalmology. With an impressive educational background, he obtained his M.S. in Ophthalmology from Guru Nanak Eye Centre/ Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi, between 1988 and 1990. Prior to that, he completed his M.B.B.S. from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, from 1981 to 1985. Dr. Tarun Kapur brings with him a wealth of experience, with over 29 years of post-M.S. expertise and more than 33 years overall in the field. He gained valuable experience during his three-year senior residency at Guru Nanak Eye Centre, Delhi, from 1991 to 1994. Throughout his career, he has developed specialized skills in performing surgeries such as Phacoemulsification for cataracts and surgical and medical management of glaucoma and oculoplastic procedures. Continuously seeking to enhance his skills, Dr. Tarun Kapur underwent training in Phacoemulsification at I Care, Noida, in 2001. For the past 19 years, he has been actively engaged in private practice across various hospitals and nursing homes in South Delhi, including prestigious institutions like Apollo Hospital, Delhi, Fortis Vasant Kunj, and Rockland Hospital, Delhi. Dr. Tarun Kapur's expertise extends beyond clinical practice. He has also contributed significantly to the medical community through his involvement in various associations. He is a proud member of the Delhi Ophthalmological Society, the All India Ophthalmological Society, the Delhi Medical Association, and the Indian Medical Association. Additionally, he served as the Secretary of the Guru Nanak Eye Centre Alumni Association from 2010 to 2012. Recognized for his exceptional talent, Dr. Tarun Kapur was awarded the National Talent Search Scholarship and the Junior Science Talent Scholarship during his academic journey.
