Dr. V.K. Jain is a highly experienced and accomplished Senior Director in the field of Neurosurgery. He completed various educational milestones to enhance his expertise. These include completing a Dosimetry & Dose planning course at the Gamma Knife Centre in Japan, participating in an International Workshop on Stereotactic Techniques in Sweden, and undertaking a Micro-neurosurgery Fellowship at Fujita Health University. He obtained an MCh (Neurosurgery) degree from NIMHANS, Bangalore, and an MBBS degree from King George Medical College. With over 31 years of experience, Dr. V.K. Jain currently serves as the Chairman of Neurosurgery at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. Previously, he held the position of Professor at SGPGIMS, Lucknow. He has also served as a Visiting Fellow in Germany and a Visiting Professor in Switzerland and Japan. His extensive career includes roles as an Additional Professor at SGPGIMS, Lucknow, and as an Associate and Assistant Professor at NIMHANS, Bangalore. Dr. V.K. Jain has contributed significantly to the field of Neurosurgery through his publications and research. He has described a new entity called Benign Subarachnoid hemorrhage and developed a groundbreaking surgical technique for Atlanto Axial Dislocation. His expertise has been recognized by prestigious organizations, where he serves as an examiner for neurosurgery degrees and holds the position of Vice President in the Asian Australasian Society of Neurological Surgeons. His areas of interest include Spine Surgery, Cerebro-Vascular Surgery, Base of Skull Surgery, Intraventricular Tumour Surgery, and Craniovertebral Junction Surgery. Dr. V.K. Jain has authored a book titled "Craniovertebral Junction Anomalies – The Indian Experience" and has published numerous articles, book chapters, and research papers in international and national publications/journals. Furthermore, Dr. V.K. Jain has made significant contributions as the President of the Neurological Society of India, the Skull Base Surgery Society of India, the Indian Society of Cerebro-Vascular Surgery, the NeuroTrauma Society of India, and the UP NeuroScience Society. He has also served as the Vice-President of the Asian Congress of Neurosurgery.
