More than 40 professional and outstanding service honors, including the Sena Medal (outstanding), Bar to VSM, and VSM bestowed by the President of India, have been bestowed upon him on a national and international level. Parihar has won various awards, such as the 2016 Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Appreciation Award and the APAO Distinguished Service Award from the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology in Sydney. The VII Dr. M.C. Nahta Netra Suraksha Puraskar, the NSPB Award, the IIRSI Special Gold Medal in 2013 and 2009 twice, the Air Marshal MS Boparai Award from OTSI, and many more. Additionally, Parihar has held and continues to hold the positions of vice president of the Eye Bank Association of India, vice president of the ACOIN Delhi Chapter, national executive of the Ocular Trauma Society of India, DOS, IIRSI, and ACOIN.
