Dr. Anil K Dcruz is a highly esteemed Surgical Oncologist currently serving as the Director of Oncology at Apollo Hospitals in Mumbai, Delhi, and Chennai. With a specialization in Head and Neck cancer, Dr. Dcruz has garnered a reputation as one of the top Oncologists in the country. With an impressive career spanning over 33 years, he has made significant contributions to the field of oncology. Dr. Dcruz completed his MBBS from Bangalore University in 1984 and pursued MS in General Surgery from the University of Mumbai in 1988. He further obtained a DNB in General Surgery from the National Board of Examination, India, in 1989. He has held important positions throughout his career and won numerous awards. He held the positions of Chief of Head Neck Services and Director of Tata Memorial Hospital. Notably, he is the first Indian to hold the prestigious positions of President-Elect (2018–2020) and President (2020–2022) of the Union International for Cancer Control, with headquarters in Geneva. His notable research and publications cover a wide range of topics related to oncology, including studies on elective versus therapeutic neck dissection in oral cancer, predictors of prognosis for squamous cell carcinoma of the oral tongue, and the relative value of different imaging techniques in the clinically node-negative neck in oral cancer.
