Dr. Arun Prasad is an accomplished robotic surgeon with extensive experience in surgical gastroenterology, bariatric surgery, general and laparoscopic surgery, thoracoscopic surgery, and single incision laparoscopy. He is a highly educated individual, having obtained an MBBS from AFMC, an MS from MAMC, and is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCSED), the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS), and the American College of Surgeons (FACS). From 1995 to 2020, Dr. Arun Prasad served as a Senior Consultant Surgeon at Apollo Hospital, where he pioneered various surgical techniques, including Robotic mini gastric bypass bariatric surgery, Robotic pancreatic surgery, and the removal of a 450-gram thymoma by robotic surgery. He has received accolades and awards from Europe, the USA, the UK, Canada, and China for his pioneering work in Robotic Surgery. Dr. Arun Prasad has also held several prestigious positions, including Head of the Department of Surgery at Manipal Hospitals in New Delhi, reviewer for medical journals such as Surgical Endoscopy and Obesity Surgery, and serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Minimal Access Surgery (JMAS) and the World Journal of Gastroenterology. Additionally, he serves as a Trustee for Primary Trauma Care Foundation (PTC) in Oxford, UK, and is the Academic Coordinator of the International Bariatric Club Academy (IBCA). Dr. Prasad's work has been recognized by the Health Minister of India for outstanding work in Bariatric and Obesity Surgery and exceptional work in Thoracoscopic Surgery. He has also been invited to deliver multiple keynote and presidential talks on GI, Bariatric, and Robotic Surgery. Dr. Prasad's contribution to the medical field is immense, and he continues to serve as a mentor and teacher to many young surgeons.

● Performed the World’s first laparoscopic/thoracoscopic/robotic operation for various conditions, such as Cholecysto-colic fistula by Laparoscopy at Bedford Hospital, UK in Mar 1994, and Hydatid cyst of the lung by Thoracoscopy at Batra Hospital, New Delhi.
● Successfully performed Laparoscopic cholecystectomy on a 100-year-old patient at Apollo Hospital, New Delhi.
● Pioneered Robotic mini gastric bypass bariatric surgery and Robotic pancreatic surgery at Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, in 2012.
● Performed the most significant 450 grams thymoma removal by robotic surgery at Apollo Hospital, New Delhi, in 2016 and Robotic splenic artery aneurysm surgery at Manipal Hospital, New Delhi, in 2018.
● Serves as a reviewer for prestigious medical journals, including Surgical Endoscopy and Obesity Surgery.
● Holds the position of Adjunct Professor in Bariatric Surgery and Clinical Tutor in Surgery at AHERF.
● Serves as the Editor of the Journal of Minimal Access Surgery (JMAS) and the World Journal of Gastroenterology.
● Serves as a Board member of the EC Journal of Gastroenterology and Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Bariatric Surgery (JBS) & World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery.
