Dr. Ashok Mittal is a highly skilled and experienced laparoscopic surgeon, with more than 40 years of experience in the field of Laparoscopy and General Surgery. He is the Medical Director and Head of the Minimal Access Surgery Department at RG Stone, East of Kailash. He completed his MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College in 1979, and his MS in General Surgery from Lady Hardinge Medical College in 1984. Dr. Mittal has performed more than 25,000 laparoscopic surgeries, including advanced procedures such as gallbladder stones, hernia, and appendix surgeries. He has a special interest in biliary and hernia surgeries, and is known for his pioneering work in laparoscopic surgery, which he started in 1992. Dr. Mittal has received several awards and recognitions, including the President of India Gold Medal for Best Student of the Year in 1986, and the Best Original Research Award by the Society of Pediatric Radiology in 2008. He is a member of several prestigious medical associations, including the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), BSI, American College of Surgeons (ACS), Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons (IAGES), European Laparoscopic Surgeon's Association (ELSA), Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (AMASI), Asia Pacific Hernia Society (APHSI), and Abdominal Wall Reconstruction Surgery (AWRS). Dr. Mittal has also conducted operating and training workshops throughout North India, and has trained more than 50 surgeons in minimally invasive surgery. He has worked as a surgeon in several hospitals, including LNJP Hospital, RML Hospital, Lady Hardinge, and Friends Medical Centre, where he was a consultant surgeon for over 20 years.
