Dr. Azhar Perwaiz

Dr. Azhar Perwaiz is an accomplished surgeon specializing in Robotics, GI Surgery, GI Oncology, and Bariatric Surgery. With a rich educational background and extensive experience, he has established himself as a leading expert in his field. Dr. Perwaiz's journey in the medical field began with his M.B.B.S. degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh in 2000, followed by an M.S. in General Surgery from the same medical college in 2004. He further pursued D.N.B. in Surgical Gastroenterology from the National Board of Examination in 2009, honing his skills in the specialized field. In 2017, he received additional training in Robotic Surgery at the prestigious Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi. The same year, he obtained MNAMS from the National Academy of Medical Sciences, Delhi, solidifying his expertise in the field. With over 16 years of experience as a Bariatric Surgeon, Dr. Perwaiz has made significant contributions to the medical community. Currently serving as a Consultant at Medanta-The Medicity since 2012, he has been instrumental in providing exceptional care to patients. Prior to this, he served as an Associate Consultant at Medanta-The Medicity from 2010 to 2012, where he gained valuable expertise and honed his surgical skills. During his career, Dr. Perwaiz has also held positions as a Registrar in GI Surgery at SGRH, New Delhi from 2005 to 2006 and as a Registrar at Dharamshila Cancer Hospital, New Delhi from 2004 to 2005. These experiences have enriched his knowledge and provided him with a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of surgical practice.
