Dr. Praveen Chandra's educational background includes an MBBS from King Georges Medical College, Lucknow University in 1985. He further pursued his MD in Medical Genetics and DM in Cardiology from the same institution in 1989 and 1991, respectively. With 32+ years of experience, Dr. Praveen Chandra has held several prestigious positions throughout his career. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the Division of Interventional Cardiology at Medanta The Medicity, a renowned healthcare institution. Prior to this, he was the Director of the Cardiac Cath Lab & Acute MI Services at Max Healthcare. From 1992 to 2004, he worked as a Consultant Cardiologist at Escorts Heart Institute and Research Center. Dr. Praveen Chandra's contributions and accomplishments in the field of interventional cardiology have been widely recognized. In 1998, he received a recognition award for his outstanding success and achievements in the field of angioplasty in India. His remarkable contributions to the field were acknowledged with the prestigious Padma Shri Award in 2016. These include percutaneous mitral valve replacement (TMVR), percutaneous aortic valve replacement (TAVI), percutaneous mitra clip implantation, percutaneous tricuspid valve replacement (PTRI), abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) interventions, coronary angiography, angioplasty, and stenting, balloon mitral valvuloplasty (BMV), carotid and renal angiography, angioplasty, and stenting (PTA), as well as acute myocardial infarction (MI) angioplasty.
