Dr. (Prof.) Ameet Kishore is an AFMC (Pune) alumnus who received the medal for ENT. His advanced surgical education in ENT surgery was completed in the UK, where he also earned Fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. With over 25 years of ENT experience, he has obtained specialised training and work experience in paediatric ENT, endoscopic sinus surgery, neuro-otology, cochlear implants, and microscopic ear surgery at a number of facilities in the UK, Europe, and the USA. Dr. (Prof.) Ameet Kishore has a lot of expertise in managing deafness and cochlear implantation because he received his training at the National Centre for Cochlear Implantation (UK) in 1995. At Apollo Hospitals, he established and oversees the cochlear and hearing implant programme for both children and adults. In this programme, he has more than 1800 cochlear implant recipients. After living abroad for more than 15 years, he held the position of Consultant and Senior Lecturer at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary University Hospital for a number of years before moving back to India.
