Pant Hospital, University of Delhi, in 1985. To enhance his proficiency, he underwent advanced training in Cardiac Electrophysiology in Canada and the USA, followed by training in Interventional Cardiology in the USA and the Netherlands. Dr. Tyagi has held various significant positions throughout his career. He served as the Clinical Director of Cardiology at Apollo Hospitals Group in the Northern Region and held the position of Senior Consultant Cardiology at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals. Additionally, he was a faculty member in the Department of Cardiology at G.B. Pant Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (IPGMER) from 1986 to 2022. He also served as the Director General of Health Services for the Government of India in 2019 and as the Dean of Maulana Azad Medical College from 2018 to 2019. Recognized for his outstanding contributions, Dr. Tyagi has received numerous awards and honors. Some notable accolades include the Dr. B C Roy National award, State Award for outstanding services, Dr. S Radhakrishnan Memorial National Teacher Award, Legends in Cardiology Award, and LifeTime Achievement Award by the Cardiological Society of India, among others. His research work has been cited in major textbooks of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery, and he has authored numerous chapters in textbooks of Medicine and Cardiology.
