Dr. Uma Ravishankar is a prominent Nuclear Medicine Physician who works at Delhi's Indraprastha Apollo Hospital. She has 37 years of expertise in the area and has worked in several respected hospitals and served as an expert in different Indian cities. In 1984, Dr. Uma Ravishankar graduated from Madras Medical College with her MBBS. In the early 1990s, she completed her nuclear medicine training at Batra Hospital and Tata Memorial Hospital. In 1996, she started working at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital following a period at All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Dr. Ravishankar now directs the Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging department, which is outfitted with cutting-edge imaging technology such as a SPECT gamma camera, DEXA scanner, PET CT, and PET MRI. Her areas of expertise include thyroid and oncologic imaging with PET CT, SPECT imaging, and treatment for neuroendocrine, prostate, and thyroid malignancies. As a distinguished International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) specialist, she supports nations such as Zambia, Madagascar, and Mongolia in developing their nuclear medical capacities. Along with being a prolific author with several publications, Dr. Ravishankar also conducts research investigations and gives specialist talks. From 2019 to 2021, she presided over the Association of Nuclear Medicine Physicians of India as its president.
