Dr. Viveka Kumar

Dr. Viveka Kumar is the Principal Director and Chief of Cath Labs (Pan Max) in the field of Cardiac Sciences. He holds an impressive educational background, having completed his Interventional Cardiology and EP training at St. George Hospital in London, UK, as well as Southampton University Hospital in Southampton, UK. He earned his DM (Cardiology) from Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur, in 1999, and his MD (General Medicine) from the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (IMS-BHU) in 1994. He also obtained his MBBS from IMS-BHU in 1991. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Viveka Kumar has gained extensive expertise in complex angioplasties and valvular interventions. He has been recognized and honored with various prestigious awards, including the Chikitsa Ratna Award from the Delhi Medical Association and the Vidya Ratna Award from Kanpur University in 2010. He also received the International Award of Excellence in Cardiology and the Mithila Samman from Lt. Shri Arun Jaitley, former Minister of Finance & Corporate Affairs. The Indian Medical Association (IMA) acknowledged his contributions with the Dr. K Sharan Cardiology Excellence Award, and he was bestowed with a Life Time Achievement Award by the Gastric Society of India. Dr. Viveka Kumar has received honorary recognition from the Iraqi Government for his outstanding cardiac services. Dr. Viveka Kumar has further expanded his expertise through a TAVI & Structural Heart Fellowship, specializing in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) and Structural Heart procedures, which he completed in the USA and Europe. He holds prestigious designations such as FSCAI, FACC, FESC, FSAICS, and MHRS. His areas of interest include TAVI, Structural Heart, Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology & Devices, and various procedures related to coronary angioplasties, peripheral angioplasties, EP studies, RF ablation, valvuloplasty, pacemaker implantation, device closure, and more. Dr. Viveka Kumar is a valuable member of the LVAD and Heart Transplant Team as well as the ECMO team.
