Dr. Y K Mishra is a well-known and experienced cardiac surgeon in India, and is regarded as one of the top ten cardiologists in the country. He has over 34 years of experience, is well-known, and has performed over 15000 open heart procedures and 510 robotic surgeries with great success. Dr. Mishra’s clinical practice is augmented by his interest in training, teaching, and research, and he has been asked to speak at conferences all over the world as a guest lecturer. In addition, in the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Italy, Japan, France, and the Far East, the doctor has chaired scientific sessions at national and international conferences. Dr. Mishra presented actual cases during his workshops in Thailand, Bangladesh, and Nepal. He has completed training in the following areas: The doctor received his fellowship in Cardiovascular Surgery at the Thoracic Center, University Hospital Uppsala, Sweden. In addition, he has received training in: Robotic Cardiac Surgery from Odessa, Texas, USA; University Hospital Utrecht, Netherlands; Ohio State University Columbus Medical Center, USA; and Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery from Odessa, Texas, USA. An endoscopic IMA harvesting training from the Institute of TeleSurgery at the University of Strasbourg. Heart Port Research & Training Center at Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, Minimally Access Valve Surgery (Heart Post Surgery or Keyhole Surgery). He is also the second Indian and fourth Asian to get this honor.

   
  • In 2005, he received the Rashtriya Ratan Award from the International Study Circle. • In 2006, he received the World Congress on Clinical and Preventive Cardiology (WCCPC) Lifetime Achievement Award from Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam.
  • Governor of Madhya Pradesh and Chancellor of Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya granted Honoris Causa Doctorate (Doctor of Science)
  • The Governor of Madhya Pradesh and the Chancellor of Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya honored him with the Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as an Honoris Causa Doctorate (Doctor of Science) from Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam.
  • Mishra is also a member of the Payasuni Heart Valve Foundation, which focuses on the prevention and treatment of rheumatic heart disease.
