Dr. Vikram Barua Sr., a senior consultant Urologist at Artemis Hospitals, has a strong educational background. He completed his MBBS from Dibrugarh University, Assam in 1994, followed by an MS in General Surgery from the same university in 1999. In 2005, he obtained the DNB degree in Urology/Genito-Urinary Surgery from the National Board of Examination. With over two decades of experience, Dr. Barua has worked in various prestigious institutions. He started his career as a Junior Resident at Lady Hardinge Medical College and later served as a House Surgeon at Assam Medical College. He continued his postgraduate training as a Resident Postgraduate at Assam Medical College and worked as a Resident Surgeon at Damani Hospital. Dr. Barua's career in Urology began when he joined Indraprastha Apollo Hospital as a Registrar specializing in Urology. He further honed his skills as a Senior Clinical Assistant at Jaslok Hospital and an Associate Urologist at RG Stone Urology & Laparoscopy Hospital. He has held consultant positions at various hospitals, including Fortis Flt. Lt. Rajan Dhall Hospital, RG Stone Urology & Laparoscopy Hospital, Neelkanth Hospital, and Paras Hospital. Dr. Barua's contributions to the field of Urology have been recognized and awarded. He presented his expertise in robotic prostatectomy, in situ laparoscopic ureteropyelostomy, tubeless PCNL, laparoscopic marsupialization of parapelvic cyst, and other topics at prestigious conferences like the Biological Society conference and USICON. His areas of interest include laparoscopic sleeve resection, male infertility treatment, minor surgery, urology consultation, and many more.
