Dr. Rahul Chandola, the Associate Director of Adult CTVS and a Heart & Lung Transplant Specialist, has an impressive educational background. He completed his MBBS from Banaras Hindu University in 1998, followed by an MS in General Surgery from the same institution in 2000. Dr. Chandola further pursued his MCh in Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery from Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University in Kanpur, which he successfully completed in 2005. He also obtained valuable international exposure through his Cardiac Surgical Fellowship at Charite, Humboldt University in Germany, and his Clinical Fellowship in Cardiovascular Surgery, Heart Transplantation, and VADs at Toronto General Hospital in Toronto, Canada. Additionally, he completed a Heart-Lung Transplantation and Ventricular Assist Devices Fellowship at the University of Alberta in Canada. With over 24 years of professional experience, Dr. Rahul Chandola has gained extensive expertise in his field. He has completed specialized training in Adult Complex Cardiac Surgery, Heart Transplantation (Adult and Pediatric), Lung Transplantation (Cadaveric & Living Lobar Transplant), and Ventricular Assist Devices (Temporary & Destination). Currently, he serves as a Senior Consultant and Program Director for Heart Lung Transplant and VADs at Global Hospitals in Chennai. He also holds a similar role at Care Hospital in Hyderabad. Dr. Chandola's contributions have been recognized through his memberships in esteemed cardiovascular societies, including the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS), Asian Cardiovascular Society (ACS), Indian Association of Cardiovascular Society (IACS), and the American Association of Thoracic Surgery (AATS). These memberships reflect his commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements and connecting with professionals in his field. His areas of interest encompass adult complex cardiac surgeries, aortic surgeries including root reconstruction, heart transplantation, ventricular assist devices (VADs), and lung transplantation.
